It is hard to let go...I know

Oh, how could we possibly evolve like a tree, changing year to year and blooming anew? It is so difficult at times to go out in situations we have tied ourselves upon for so many years and to shape into something better. We call them attachments — extra things that need to be loosened and withdrawn. We have to accept that we will never grow in many aspects of life with worthless things we are bringing with us along.

WINTER:

SPRING:

We need to unfasten the old corroded screws and replace it with silvery beaming ones. We must try harder and work hardest to say NO when it is time to say NO. If we have to live with these attachments, we would be put someday in a situation we would regret for the rest of my lives.

We may have failed a lot than won in real-life battles we've been through, but each fall might be a win in some way, an added strength to make us endure and fight other battle where losing must not be an option. If we give up, we would never see ourselves fresh and glowing anew. We must believe that in every experience of spiritual brokenness in life, a purpose is also laid open. The purpose might be something we may not realize in the beginning when the clouds are dark still. It might take sometime when the sun is out and the clouds are clear to see that the purpose of letting go is not for disintegration but for seeing beyond self, towards real bounty, towards true happiness.

SUMMER:

FALL:

Just like the falling of the leaves: trees' sacrifice in order to see youthful covers and to shape new horizons again.

Giants all over Moscow!

This is amazing! You see Moscow in miniature. You can even buy it if you like.

Created by 300 workers in 1977 to coincide with the 60th anniversary of the Bolshevik Revolution, the 60-foot-wide mostly plastic model evokes an unchanging orderliness, the quality that many Russians longingly remember from the Leonid Brezhnev era.
How much is it worth? A starting price for the miniature Moscow is $380,000.

Sex Education, Why, why not?

I was saddened by the scrapping!

In this third-world country where the population grows to hundreds of thousands each year, anyone who knows the facts and figures must worry about the future state of the Philippines.

The Department of Education (DepEd) attempted, at the start classes last June, to bring forward to the whole country the program on "sex education". Such program was seen as a positive step by the United Nations Fund for Population Activities. It was supposedly be integrated to the general curriculum, beginning 5th grade, via subjects like Health, Filipino, Science, and Livelihood education. This way, schools could help bottle up the issue of overpopulation and educate students on the dangers of pre-marital sex, including “unwanted pregnancies”.

However, everything went down the drain. Early on the program's trial run, the Philippine government scrapped it due to the strong defiance by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP). In a country with about 90 percent Catholics, the CBCP believes that sex education into the public schools would encourage teenagers to undertake premarital sex rather than remain abstinent, and emphasizes that sex education is the parents’ responsibility, not the government’s.

Is the government right in scrapping it off the education system? I would have loved to see it implemented much longer and get results...I know many countries have introduced sex education in the curriculum.

I want to know your ideas. Please post.

Man Banned From Love Nest for Loud Sex

LONDON (Aug. 14) - A British man has been banned from visiting his girlfriend's home after neighbors complained about noisy sex, a local official said Thursday.
A court barred Adam Hinton, 32, from being within 110 yards of his 29-year-old girlfriend Kerry Norris' apartment, Brighton and Hove City Council spokesman Mike Taggart said.

What do you think of the court's decision?
( )Thumbs up
( )Thumbs down
Have you ever overheard a neighbor having sex?
( )Yes
( )No

Residents of Norris's publicly owned home had been complaining since 2006 about thumping music, banging headboards and screamed obscenities, Taggart said.

Neighbors also complained about Norris sunbathing naked in her yard, and were upset that a 6-year-old child in the building had been "subjected to the sort of obscenities you wouldn't want a 6-year-old to hear," the spokesman said.

"She is a classic nightmare neighbor," Taggart said, insisting the case was not about sex. "It's about allowing your neighbors to have a normal decent life without being disturbed."

The court granted the city council's request for an injunction banning Hinton from the apartment because Norris had ignored a previous court order demanding that she be more quiet, Taggart said.

Norris last week was forced to pay $560 in fines and court costs for breaking the "noise abatement order," Taggart said.

Neither Norris or Hinton could be immediately located for comment. Brighton and Hove is located in southern England.

Trying to be is the first step to be!

There are times when I find my self powerless and helpless. There are boundaries around that I am not able to cross even when I am willing to. So much needs to be done and there are so many who are looking towards me as someone in a better position then what they are but all I am able to do is turn my face away and just feel guilty of not being able to do anything. No one in this world is born with a responsibility and actually responsibility is something that can only be take when you find your self responsible for it or answerable.

With a limited point of view the responsibilities are restricted to a radius but the question that arises is when we will be able to come out of this limited point of view and start feeling our self responsible to the extent of horizon.

Its easy to earn money, yes it is, its easy to live a happily, yes it is, its easy to live for your self and its not hard to live for others or is it. This small feeling, this thought, this approach is missing from most of our lives.

Why are we scared of losing something that is already getting lost by every second and why are we trying to preserve something that we are not sure for how long we can hold it.

There is a great saying that, live the life as it is the last moment to live. When we hear this the first thing that would come to our minds would be something that can give us joy, enjoyment, happiness. By the way who defined joy, who defined enjoyment, the answer is quite blunt we don’t know who.

Its quite easy to drink your life as if you are drinking a bottle of beer with every moment we live, may be that is what we call enjoyment, may be that is what gives us happiness. Consider people like Mother Teressa or Mahatma Gandhi, were they from some all different world or from some other planet. Why did they have different meaning for enjoyment, a different meaning of happiness, a different way to celebrate and every moment they lived as if every moment was last moment of their life.

We party and we enjoy, do we ever do it all alone, no I don’t think so. The day we will realise that enjoyment is not in our happiness but in sharing it with others and especially with those who really need it, our would will be a better place to live.

This is something that we not just need to think upon but act upon and the best part is we are not depended on any external things that are not in our control say for an example our governments.

I am not a great person who would have already attained this level in life but really aspire for it and I am trying for it.

Remember friends…

Some of these toilets are absolutely hilarious.

They are enough to make you wet yourself laughing.

Bet you thought going to do the business was just another unpleasant chore people just had to get on with.

When you gotta go, you gotta go, as they say. But some people, like the owners of these funny toilets, like to do with style, with imagination, with a flourish.

Don't these zany toilets make the dready job of relieving yourself a whole lotta extra fun.

So which of these toilets you wanna own???

I WANNA GROW OLD WITH YOU (by; Westlife)

Hope you will enjoy!

I WANNA GROW OLD WITH YOU
by: Westlife

Another day
Without your smile
Another day just passes by
But now I know
How much it means
For you to stay
Right here with me

The time we spent apart will make our love grow stronger
But it hurt so bad I can't take it any longer

I wanna grow old with you
I wanna die lying in your arms
I wanna grow old with you
I wanna be looking in your eyes
I wanna be there for you
Sharing everything you do
I wanna grow old with you

A thousand miles between us now
It causes me to wonder how
Our love tonight remains so strong
It makes our risk right all along

The time we spent apart will make our love grow stronger
But it hurt so bad I can't take it any longer

I wanna grow old with you
I wanna die lying in your arms
I wanna grow old with you
I wanna be looking in your eyes
I wanna be there for you
Sharing everything you do
I wanna grow old with you

Things can come and go I know but
Baby I believe
Something's burning strong between us
Makes it clear to me

I wanna grow old with you
I wanna die lying in your arms
I wanna grow old with you
I wanna be looking in your eyes
I wanna be there for you
Sharing everything you do
I wanna grow old with you

Facts, figures about number 13!(Triskaideikaphobia)

Still many people are fascinated or terrified by facts and figures related to the number 13. Why the number 13 is regarded as unlucky? Is it because Judas Iscariot was the 13th person to sit at Christ’s table? Or is it because witches, to contradict themselves to Christian beliefs, often make up groups of 13, called covens? Or probably because, in a deck of Tarot cards, the number 13 card is called Death? Or is it because several mass murderers have 13 letters in their names, Charles Manson and Jeffrey Dahmer, to mention just two.

Whichever reason you'd pick out, I am here to defy that. In my strong opinion, number 13 is not bad at all. Think about it when the same number is your birthdate -- would that be still unlucky? In fact, in ancient Egypt, the number is related to immortality. In China, it represents perfection. I also believe it plays a big role in the History of the Seal of the United States.

The significance of the mystical number 13, which frequently appears upon the Great Seal of the United States, is not limited to the number of the original colonies. The sacred emblem of the ancient initiates, composed of 13 stars, also appears above the head of the "eagle." The motto, E Pluribus Unum, contains 13 letters, as does also the inscription, Annuit Cœptis. The "eagle" clutches in its right talon a branch bearing 13 leaves and 13 berries and in its left a sheaf of 13 arrows. The face of the pyramid, exclusive of the panel containing the date, consists of 72 stones arranged in 13 rows.

Also, there are millions of people with 13 letters in their names who do not turn out to be mass murderers, like Robert Redford and Pierce Brosnan. Thus, in my own opinion, there is nothing to be afraid of.

The fear of the number 13 is a product of superstition. Superstitious beliefs, in one study conducted somewhere in UK, exist in people who tend to worry more about life, those who have an intense need for control in their lives. I admit that I do worry about life sometimes but not to the point of trusting my fate to a number. I do not worry about the number 13, I worry about the people associating the number to so many bad lucks. How many opportunities they could have enjoyed had they not been believing too much.

For finality, let me just enjoy the remaining 13 days before I become a 3-month old blogger. By the way, the word "Triskaideikaphobia" means "the fear of the number 13". If you haven't figured out yet how it should be correctly pronounced, here are more words: The fear of Friday the 13th is called either Paraskevidekatriaphobia or Friggatriskaidekaphobia.

I suggest you better be cured of your fear of the number 13 or be burdened by memorizing and correctly pronouncing the words if you do not want to be a slapstick comedian for not knowing what the name of your phobia is. Or better yet, just be afraid of the word PHOBIA -- Phobophobia, it's shorter, that is.

English proficiency of Philippine call center agents

My little brother who is taking his Masters degree in English with a major in Linguistics at the University of Santo Tomas (UST) in the Philippines asked me to do some research on articles about the English proficiency of Philippine call center agents.

It was hard to find scientific articles as the subject isn't so much studied in Philippine academia. I did find few links from links from Google Scholar.

I am sharing the links to you.
