Tweety with baby Zee

This video is an old one. I just found it that my brother posted it in YouTube. It is me carrying my cute niece, Franzine Cole "baby Zee" during her first birthday.

What about this? It's Zee at 2 years old, singing "Hindi ko kayang iwan ka" by Sheryn Regis. Cute no?

Tired need to rest

It's been a while that I never blog, I felt so lazy for this week I just don't know why. I wake up late every morning and then just staring at the computer and felt so lazy. I really wonder why.

Anyhow, today is my Dental appointment. Today my tooth will be pulled out. I know that I'm ready for this cause I prepare myself for this day. My mother in-law take me to the dentist and then it took an hour to get that tooth. I got three shots so that I could not feel the pain when pulling my tooth.

It was terrible but the dentist told me that I'm a very strong lady to hold on the session while pulling my tooth.

Right now, I'm tired and I need to eat soft food.
I have to rest now and I will be blogging more next time.

Viva Senor Sto. Nino!!!!!

Pit Senor!!!

Today is the Sinulog festival in Cebu where I'm from. I really miss the festival cause this is my first time that I'm not there to celebrate. The Sinulog is an annual festival held on the third Sunday of January in Cebu City, Philippines. The festival honors the child Jesus, known as the Santo Niño, patron of the province of Cebu. It is a dance ritual that commemorates the Filipino people's pagan past and their acceptance of Christianity.

The festival features a street parade with participants in bright-colored costumes dancing to the rhythm of drums, trumpets, and native gongs. Smaller versions of the festival are held in various parts of the province, also to celebrate and honor the Santo Niño. There is also a "Sinulog sa Kabataan", performed by the youths of Cebu a week before the grand parade.

Recently, the festival has been promoted as a tourist attraction, with a contest featuring contingents from various parts of the country. The Sinulog Contest is usually held in the Cebu City Sports Complex.

The word Sinulog comes from the Cebuano adverb sulog which is "like water current movement," which describes the forward-backward movement of the Sinulog dance. The dance consists of two steps forward and one step backward, done to the sound of drums. The dance is categorized into Sinulog-base, Free-Interpretation. Candle vendors at the Basilica continue to perform the traditional version of the dance when lighting a candle for the customer, usually accompanied by songs in the native language.

I really miss dancing Sinulog. Right now since I could not be there to celebrate I'm still happy and after writing this blog my hubby and I will dance Sinulog here in the house. I will teach him the simple dance steps.

PIT SENOR to all Cebaunos!!!!!!!!Enjoy dancing while watching this video.

Healthy life, healthy teeth

I was with my dentist yesterday cause I feel that I need to change the false teeth I got. It was my first time to see a dentist here. Of course I'm a little worried what would be the reaction of the dentist after checking my teeth. It's been awhile that I never check for dental. My hubby recommend me to his dentist named Dr. John Rottschalk.. I met him and his a very nice dentist. And the people in the clinic was so friendly.

Well, Dr. John gave me some appointments to see him again for making my teeth well again. I was then amazed of the amounts when I ask about it. Wow! it's not that cheap, really, if I compare it in the Philippines when I got my teeth done in there. I told myself that its not a joke if you have dental problem in here. You have to spend much money. I was suppose to back off, I told my hubby about it. But then he said, this is important, this is for your own good. So I then need to go back there next week for my second appointment.

Anyway, just I want to share this to you guys some simple tips on how to take care of your teeth so that you will not be spending much for your dental care. Hope this will help.Taking care of our general health as well as our teeth is the key to getting the perfect smile.

1. A healthy diet:
What you eat affects your whole body and the same rules that will keep the rest of you healthy work just as well for your teeth.
2. Say no to smoker’s teeth:
Smoking is a real no if you want gleaming, healthy teeth. Smoking turns your teeth yellow, causes bad breath and increases your risk of gum disease, breathing problems and lung cancer. If you smoke 20 or more cigarettes a day, you're six times more likely to develop mouth cancer. So giving up makes sense if you want to look and feel better.
3. Toothpicks:
Avoid using toothpicks as you may cause your gums to bleed and cause an infection. Floss is more gentle on teeth and gums.
4. Lightly brush your tongue to help keep your mouth clean:
You also need to clean around your teeth with dental floss every day. Careful flossing will take off plaque and leftover food that a toothbrush can't reach. Be sure to rinse after you floss. See your dentist if brushing or flossing causes your gums to bleed or hurts your mouth. If you have trouble flossing, a floss holder may help.
5. Buy a toothbrush with a larger handle.
6. Cut your food into small pieces.
7. Use lip balm with sunscreen.
8. Visit your dentist regularly for a checkup and cleaning.

No matter how old we are, we need to take care of our teeth and mouth. When our mouth is healthy, we can eat the foods we need for good nutrition. We will also feel better about smiling, talking, and laughing. Teeth are meant to last a lifetime. By taking good care of our teeth and gums, we can protect them for many years.

Priorities When Walking Down the Aisles!!!

What do you like to shop? Do you love shopping? I love shopping...really I love shopping. When I was still in Philippines, my money is just spent for shopping. Going to big malls, buy this and that, and I'm addicted to buy kinds of bags and sandals.I couldn't imagine how many pairs of sandals I got before and the kinds of bags that I bought. When I was still single, that's what I did. For me, shopping means just waste of money and just to unwind oneself from a busy work in a day. I never think about saving the money I earned. Just shop and shop. Those times were through. My life now have change. Really change. Shopping lead me to a different meaning now that I'm married.

Yesterday my Baby, my mother in-law and I went to a grocery store to buy meat, fruits, canned goods, and many more. I never expected that we got those shopping goods. It was too many and I was overwhelmed staring the groceries that we get. It was a different kind of shopping. When we shop, we always must think the essential things to buy. I was confused at first what to get and place it in the cart, I really don't have the idea what to buy in the groceries. But then I realized that I'm married, we need many stuffs for us. I then picked goods that are really what we need, well not to mention the chocolates I really like. Of course I took some of it.

My Baby really says that shopping is tiring, but I need him when we shop. I do agree that it is really man's instinct that they don't like shopping that much. For them, shopping is a mission. They are out to buy a targeted item and flee the store as quickly as possible. But for women, they shop till they drop.

Then today, Baby and I shopped again. We went to Walmart to buy other stuffs that was too expensive in that store we went to yesterday. We got one big cart full of groceries. It was tiring but I enjoyed. Yes, we did spend a lot of money but it's not regretful because it's our food and that is a basic need in life.

So, you guys out there when you go out for shopping, don't just get anything that is not important. Think and be a wise buyer.

Enjoy shopping!!

Bible vs. Cellphone

As I open my mail today, I receive an e-mail from cousin which really touches me. It's quite silly but it can enlighten our mind. I want to share this all guys. Enjoying reading!!!

Ang Cellphone

laging hawak ipinapakita,

binibili kahit libo-libong halaga,

laging pinapalitan ng case,

ayaw magasgasan,

bihirang makaligtaan kung saan iniwan,

mahirap ipahiram, baka masira,

laging binabasa kung may bagong message,

message masarap i-share,

pinapakita ang lifestyle ng tao,

mabilis maluma,

message kung minsan ay late,

kailangan magload para mag-message,

ay mahalagang gamit ng tao.

Ang Bible

laging nakatago at ayaw ipakita

ayaw bilhin, kahit isang daan ang halaga,

hindi man lang mabilhan ng case,

hinahayaang maalikabukan,

madaling makaligtaan kung saan naiwan,

madaling ipahiram, kahit mawala,

hindi binabasa kaya hindi makita ang message,

verse nakakalimutang i-share,

nagpapabago ng lifestyle ng tao,

hindi naluluma,

laging on time ang message,

laging fully loaded ang message,

ay mas mahalaga kung gagamitin ng tao.

Ang ganda di ba? San ka pa?

MARRIAGE..LOVE and LIFE...

relax relax sa mi duha!!

1 Corinthians 13:4-8"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self–seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres".

This is the favorite Verse I want to read in the Bible.Wow!! January 11,2008 was the most memorable day of my entire life. You know why? I just get married to my "Knight and Shinning Armor". Love is on the air and I feel the soothing of the air breeze and the presence of God that very moment.

I got up early that morning and thinking what would happen that day. My Baby had a half day work that day and told me that I need to be in his workplace around 11 am. So I got to get ready and I'm thinking what will I say when I got to met his co-workers? Say "hi","hello",...blah, blah, blah....But I never think about it. I want to relax my mind and just think about the afternoon's big day.

My mother-in law see me off to the office of my future husband and then I was there. I was so surprised cause everyone was standing along the doorway and taking pictures of me and my Baby.Saying, "Congratulations, Best Wishes".. giving all their best smiles. I almost cried but I keep myself composed 'cause I don't want my make up to get ruin.(haahhaha). Seriously, I was so touched of what they prepared for us. They got a cake, some cookies, punch for drink, a gift and a card. It was simple but it was so touching. My Baby and I thanked them.

Slicing sa cake..!!!!

One hour to go, my big moment come.I'm so excited and I felt different kinds of emotions within me. We got inside the courthouse, and there I saw the judge. He started to talk and do his part to bind us together. Exactly 2:00 pm we were married. Mom and Jim(hubby's friend) was our witnesses. I'm now officially MRS. JINGLE SALAS-REEB.

This is it!!!

" I now pronounce you Hubby and Wifey"

I thank God for the best Gift that He gave to me, my husband. Life and love are like hide and seek. People spend their whole lives looking for love, but when they finally forget to look for it, they find it. That's what I am. Some people pray to marry the man they love, my prayer will somewhat vary, I humbly pray to Heaven above that I love the man I marry.

From the movie Moulin Rouge, I want to share this quote:

"Never knew I could feel like this, like I've never seen the sky before. Want to vanish inside your kiss and I love you until the end of time."

Hope to live forever and ever together.

Baguio City, City of Lovers

I love traveling. I've been to different places in Philippines. I'm so proud that I have almost traveled my own country. One of the best places that I've been to was Baguio City.Where is Baguio?Baguio City, the only city in the Province of Benguet, is 250 kilometers north of Metro Manila. It is located in the south central part of Benguet and nestled on a 1,500-meter high plateau in the Cordillera mountain range of northern Luzon. The city, which has an area of 49 square kilometers of prime property, is highly urbanized. It has a rugged and sloping terrain dotted with pine trees. Baguio is one of the place in the Philippines I always dreamed of living in. Imagine all these, clear blue morning skies, foggy afternoons, and chilly romantic evenings.

They call Baguio as "Little America", a favorite honeymoon destination for those Filipinos who could not take the time off to go abroad, because one is transported to another time and place while in here. A graceful blend of colonial America and rich in indigenous culture, there isn't a place like this anywhere else in the world.

My friends and I went to different places in Baguio. We went to Burnham Park, they call it "Heart of Baguio City". It is located at the most valuable piece of Baguio real estate and is free for the enjoyment of visitors and residents alike. The man-made lake with rowboats for hire, a children's playground, the skating rink, the Rose Garden, the Orchidarium, Igorot Garden, Melvin Jones Grandstand, the Athletic Bowl, a Picnic Grove, the Japanese Peace Tower, Pine Trees of the World and Sunshine Park.

Next we went to Camp John Hay (CJH) Baguio's most popular destination. A beautiful resort in the mountains it features a golf course, hotels, shopping & a convention center, among other attractions.

There were still lots of attractions we went to and I was so amazed of the wonders they have in Baguio City.

It's so nice to be a traveler, I will be posting more of my travels in the Philippines. This is just the beginning of my journey in my beloved country.

A Friendship that last forever

"What is a friend? A single soul dwelling in two bodies". - Aristotle

How much do you consider someone you can call a friend? Its so difficult to give the meaning of this simple word "FRIEND".They say, different people have different definitions of friendship. For some, it is the trust in an individual that he / she won't hurt you. For others, it is unconditional love. There are some who feel that friendship is companionship. People form definitions based on the kind of experiences they have had. This is one relation that has been nurtured since times immemorial. They say a person who has found a faithful friend has found a priceless treasure.

But the kind of friendship I found with my Korean friend is different. A friendship that really true and real. They say its too difficult to involve a foreign friend because you are unfamiliar with someone else's race, culture, customs, and traditions you can be offensive and not mean to be.

It was not difficult for me then.Since I'm working in a Korean Academy then I started to learn about their culture. There are things that people do without thinking about them that are just apart of their culture and customs. Knowing about the beliefs and reasons behind the customs of your friends of a different race or culture will help with your friendship. The better we know and the better we understand someone else's culture, the better your friendship will be.

Being friends with someone of a different race or culture is much like being friends with someone of a different religion. Until you take the time to understand what they believe, and how they feel about things, it can be hard to understand one another. However, once you reach an understanding, a good, lasting, and easy friendship will be able to blossom, and you will just know that there will be some disagreements, some differences in opinions, customs, etc., but all in all a great friendship.

Now, I will share this to you a video made by a Korean friend of mine who was studying in our Academy. He's name was Kerry,(CHOI CHANG MIN). With this video that he made for me I cried and I was touched and I told him that I would never forget him till time passes by.He's a good man and very smart. All positive traits that a man should have was in him. I hope to see him soon. He's now in Korea studying hard to have better future in life.

Please open this www.jsjhinks.multipy.com. and click my Video.
and you will see what I'm talking about. And tell me if it never touches your soul.

May this blog inspires other people of treasure friendship forever, cause even if I'm here and he's thousand miles from me, we still keep in touch each other.

BOGOSHIPO KERRY!!!!!

For the LOVE of COFFEE

"Coffee?"
This is the usual question asked by my mother in-law every time I visited her in her house.Well, my answer is straight "YES, I would love too."
I was not coffee drinker before, but then I started to love coffee when lots of coffee shops were booming in my city and I could not help myself to try coffee. After that experience I started to go out with my buddies and my Korean students and have cup of coffee, three times a week of even like every night we go out for coffee.

But is coffee really good or not for our health? Though we often don’t want to admit to it, coffee can be considered both good and bad for ones health. On the other hand, there are many benefits to drinking coffee. One is that it is a natural antidepressant and can elevate your mood. Another is that drinking your daily cup can help you relax. The disadvantages of drinking coffee are that it is very acidic and has a high caffeine content. This means you can get heartburn and end up with an elevated blood pressure if you drink too much.

If you are finding yourself having acid issues when drinking coffee, there are many brands of low acid coffee beans. These may be exactly what you are looking for! They often have 50% of the acid of regular coffee allowing you to enjoy your cup of java everyday without issues!

But, thinking some of the disadvantages of drinking coffee I have been trying to wean myself off of coffee lately. I thought it might be a good time to replace my morning cup 'o' joe with a nice healthy cup of tea now that the weather has cooled. The only problem is that I LOVE COFFEE! I love the aroma of fresh brewed coffee, the taste but especially the smell of fresh whole beans. I LOVE COFFEE.

HOW DO I LIVE WITHOUT YOU MY DAMN COFFEE!!!!!

Reasons to get more Sleep

Sleeping is not as easy as it should be for many people. There are actually people who dread nighttime because of the difficulties they have with falling asleep.I am lucky though because for me, it is not a chronic condition. I go through cycles of having a hard time falling asleep and of being okay.
Of course, in a less busy world we'd all grab some extra shut-eye. but sleep could have more effect on your health than you think, I got 5 surprising reasons why do we get MORE SLEEP.

1)MAKE YOU THINNER
The less you sleep you get, the higher your body mass index tends to be.Research showed that people who sleep five hours a night were found to have 15% more Ghrelin in their bodies and 15% less Leptin than those sleeping eight hours.

2) BOOST YOUR MEMORY
Sleep plays a key role in making a new memories stick in our brain. In Harvard experiment showed that subjects taught complex finger movements such as piano scale, recalled them better after 12 hours' sleep than 12 hours' awakefulness.

3) CAN FIGHT COLDS, ULCERS and EVEN CANCER
Good sleep boosts, the immune system. Melatonin,, produced when you sleep, is a cancer-fighting antioxidant. Night-shift workers may have to 70 times risk of breast cancer. Also, the chemical to repair damage to the stomach lining is secreted during the sleep, so staying up all night regularly raise your risk of ulcers.

4) SLOW DOWN AGING
A person who sleep six to seven hours a night live longer than those sleeping less than 4.5 hours. Persistent sleep debt affects carbohydrates metabolism in a way that may increase the severity of age related chronic disorders.

5) KEEP YOU ORDERLY
If you're a child, that is. The depression and self esteem often associated with just being a teenager actually correlate with sleep shortage. Young kids who sleep poorly are more than twice as likely to take to drink and drugs in adolescence.

Sleep is a very important part of everyone’s life. Getting enough sleep and sleeping properly is crucial to everyone’s well being. Learning to sleep better, not necessarily more should have a goal for everyone to improve the quality of their days.

Metro Link Experience

It's been awhile that I was not able to update this blog of mine, cause I was then thinking what to write on. Lot's of ideas came up to my mind but then I don't know how would I start it. Now, I came up to this my experience in riding a METRO LINK here in Belleville.
Last Wednesday, my brother need to be back to South Dakota having with me for a week stay here in Belleville. Since we're heading to St. Louis Airport my mother in-law decided that we will just take the Metro Link. I didn't know about it but then I was so excited to experience the ride. We purchased the ticket at the vending machines at the entrance of the station and must be validated before boarding the train.

Here's the price for the ticket:

* 1 Ride Ticket - $2.00 (reduced fare - $1.00)
* 2 Hour Pass - $2.25 (reduced fare - $1.10)
* 2 Hour Pass from Lambert Airport - $3.50 (reduced fare - $1.75)
* One-Day Pass - $4.50

Actually, it was not my first time to take a ride on a train but that day I felt that I was a little kid so excited to take her first ride.I sat next to my brother and Mom was at our back.We took some pictures and give our sweetest smile.

That moment I can't describe the inner feelings I had. Maybe because my brother who was very dear to me will be leaving me behind or Am I just thinking too much about anything.Anyhow, I enjoyed and I had a great time having that ride. Looking forward to take the ride again.

See you then in the Metro Link!!!

Way Of Lights

These are just samples of pictures I took last night at the Way Of Lights.
